When I wanted to get some images with me and my first dog I called Melanie. The Littles of Washington County: A Portrait Collection of our Smallest Best Friends
This book was born from a deep love for our pets, inspired by each unique personality that brightens our lives. Every Little is a source of joy and a testament to the bond we share with our furry companions. We believe that every pet deserves to be celebrated, and what better way to do so than through the art of photography? This project also supports our local rescue organization, Underdogs Rock! Rescue, which operates solely on volunteer efforts. Their mission is commendable: rescuing, fostering, and finding forever homes for dogs in the Portland area.
If your pup qualifies to be featured in our collection (we're looking for our smallest friends, 12 lbs or less, residing in Washington County), we invite you to make contribution to SoulJourners Photography (for time and materials) of $20.00. Your dog's professional photo then be enrolled for the book. After all the photos are taken they will be entered in an online platform where you and your friends will vote on the cutest pup. The pup with with highest number of votes will be the front cover photo, and the runnerup will be the back cover photo. The votes are made with dollars (minimum vote is $5.00 for 5 votes) and that money goes to the charity dog rescue. Click the button below to register or learn more.
The Schedule:
Mid March-Mid April: Professional photographer will commence the sessions.
Mid April-Mid May: Photo sessions continued, consultations with pet owners to select images for the collection, and start of online contest for the cover photo.
Mid May-Mid June: the book design finalization, the art gallery gala/party, the book reveal, and presentation of the check to the dog chrity.
